February 19, 2008.

For the first half of class, we just talked about the four school shootings that occured last week. Two were in high schools, two were in universities.
We also talked about facebook and how that can affect how people perceive you. Employers and universities can check into that information. Be careful what you put on your facebook and myspace.

Observation notes
Caswell began class with talking about how the ice storm is outside. Students began telling stories of their experiences outside. Spring break was mentioned, and everyone seems excited. We pulled up our schedules on the computer and she discussed what she wanted for our projects. Students continued talking while she was talking. Some students seemed distressed about having their final draft due the Tuesday after break. My classmates had lots of questions.
The screen wouldn’t work and Caswell seemed annoyed. She begins discussing the outline. Students were confused about the lit. review. Everyone seems a little confused about it; they ask a lot of questions over it. People were asking for a sample lit review, and Caswell explained that we could go over it during our meetings. We then discussed our research proposal. We then told to use our blogs to help with our research proposal.
